Covid-19 Water Challenge
Location
Eti-Osa Local Government, Lagos State, Nigeria
Goal
To deliver storage tanks and 150,000 litres of clean water to 4 communities in Eti-Osa.
We provided 4 storage tanks, each with the capacity to hold 2,000 litres of water. We also ensured delivery of 150,000 litres of potable water, on a weekly basis, to residents in Addo, Langbasa, Badore and Owode.
This project gave residents renewed hope to combat the Covid-19 virus. It also provided them with knowledge and resources to tackle water-borne diseases and ensure regular handwashing practices to minimise the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Before we executed the project with the Mental & Environmental Development Initiative for Children [MEDIC], residents were sick from drinking dirty water and not practicing decent sanitation measures. However, the execution of the water project gave residents health and hope. It gave them the opportunity to dream and reach their potential.
